Boulton Pumps IL Series: Performance and Reliability in Vertical Pumping
30-09-2024

The IL Series from Boulton Pumps offers a vertical monoblock centrifugal pumping solution known for its compact and efficient design. These in-line suction and discharge pumps are ideal for applications requiring optimized space usage. Additionally, the rigid coupling allows for connection to standard asynchronous motors (B35/B5), ensuring seamless integration and high operational reliability.

The design is geared towards providing efficient performance under various conditions. With inlet sizes (DN) ranging from 40 to 150, these pumps can handle flow rates of up to 200 m³/h and reach heads of up to 100 meters. This range of capabilities makes them suitable for a wide array of industrial and commercial applications, where both efficiency and durability are valued.

A key feature of these pumps is their versatility in operating conditions. They can function in temperatures ranging from -10°C to +140°C, allowing their use across a variety of environments, from heating and cooling systems to more demanding industrial fluid handling processes. Additionally, they can withstand pressures of up to 16 bar and operate at speeds of up to 2900 rpm, ensuring robust performance in diverse scenarios.

The choice of materials used in the manufacturing of these pumps guarantees optimal durability and resistance. Like other products from Boulton Pumps, these pumps can be constructed from cast iron, stainless steel, and other alloys, providing excellent corrosion and mechanical fatigue resistance. This is particularly crucial in applications involving aggressive or abrasive fluids, where standard materials may not offer the required longevity.

Sealing is another critical aspect of the design. These pumps are equipped with various types of mechanical seals that provide secure, reliable sealing, minimizing the risk of leakage. This feature is vital for maintaining the integrity of systems, especially in critical applications where leaks could lead to downtime or safety issues.

In terms of installation and maintenance, the in-line suction and discharge design simplifies the process, as complex piping does not need to be dismantled for routine maintenance. Along with the rigid coupling to standard motors, this feature allows for straightforward integration into existing systems, optimizing both installation time and associated costs.

In summary, this series of vertical monoblock centrifugal pumps stands out for its compact design, versatile operation, and high-quality materials. Their ability to handle a wide range of temperature and pressure conditions, along with easy maintenance, makes them an ideal choice for industrial and commercial applications that demand efficiency and reliability.
